KIRKUS REVIEWS

“In nearly the half-century I have been researching and writing about near-death experiences, I have read many hundreds of accounts of NDEs. But I have rarely encountered one that moved me more than Reinee Pasarow’s. Her book Love Will Lead Me Home is more than the story of her NDE. It is a distillation of her deep wisdom and her almost saintly compassion. Even her writing is beautiful—poetic and so spiritually eloquent—and is a joy to read. This is a book that will inspire its readers and bring comfort to all of us who will one day have to face death.”

Portrait of Reinee E. Pasarow

Reinee E. Pasarow

Southern California

Reinee E. Pasarow grew up in southern California and attended UCLA. With husband Michael, she managed a successful food brokerage business. But a debilitating multiple sclerosis progressed throughout her life. At 16, she went into anaphylactic shock and was pronounced dead. Her spiritual awakening was a direct result of this near-death experience. She went on to share her experience with live audiences and on television throughout the 1980s and ’90s, including ABC’s 20/20, before NDEs were widely known. She was also featured in many magazine articles and books. She passed away peacefully at home in California in 2020, at 69.

THE BOOK

Love Will Lead Me Home

Front cover of Love Will Lead Me Home by Reinee Pasarow with Anna Powers

A typical southern California teenager, Reinee grew up in the 1950s experiencing threats of war, practicing bomb drills in elementary school.

Later, in the ’60s, during her teens, the civil rights movement and war with Vietnam greatly disturbed her.

But on March 25, 1967, sixteen-year-old Reinee Pasarow died. Clinically dead for almost an hour and then brought back to life by a determined family doctor, Reinee’s Near-Death Experience (NDE) is remarkable for the clarity and detail of the event, and because of its powerful spiritual message of hope and healing. Those who have had NDEs tend not to fear death but look forward to returning to the place they feel is their true “home.” This is part of the essential message of this unforgettable memoir called Love Will Lead Me Home.

“I LOVE NDE stories! This is excellent and well-written too. As a connoisseur of Near-Death Experience stories, this is one of the best I’ve ever read. Inspiring. Fascinating. Uplifting.”
Rainn WilsonActor, author, and philanthropist
“To read Love Will Lead Me Home is to step into the vivid, prolonged and beautiful near-death experience (NDE) of Reinee Pasarow, a woman so blessed by her brush with death that it left a permanent glow in her very being. I know this because I knew Reinee. That indescribable but palpable glow actually preceded Reinee’s entrance into any room, announcing her presence as a loving, wise and infinitely kind person. Author Anna Powers perfectly captures these qualities in Reinee and, by including the details of Reinee’s NDE, allows the reader to be inspired and, frankly, astonished over every aspect of it, especially the life preview that Reinee was shown, events that are actually in play today. For those who did not know Reinee in life, Love Will Lead Me Home will allow them to know her in print and experience the love that defined her, a love that can define us all through these writings.”

“A conscious shifting, revelatory hug for our souls.”

“Almost nothing inspires and settles me more than an NDE account that feels reliable. Reinee’s experience of The Beyond is profound and deeply engaging; I was able to receive the existential gift of it because it also feels so trustworthy.”
Chelan HarkinAuthor of Wild Grace and The Prophetess: The Return of the Prophet from the Voice of the Divine Feminine
“I had the pleasure of knowing Reinee many years ago when we lived in the same community in Southern California. Anna Powers has exquisitely rendered her life-changing story in this book. I have no doubt that it will inspire and uplift many, giving hope not only for the next life, but for this one as well.”
Gaellen QuinnAuthor of The Last Aloha, BAIPA Winner of Best Historical Fiction Award

“Anna Powers and I were attending a conference in Reno, Nevada, in 1998 when we first heard Reinee Pasarow tell the story of her NDEs. We were speechless, bowled over, filled with the excitement of a shared moment—knowing something had changed within us forever. Anna knew she had a job to do and that was to help Reinee get this powerful story out to everyone, everywhere. For Anna, that was a kind of sacred trust.

When Reinee died, others might have given up, but Anna, in keeping her promise to Reinee to get her story published, persevered. And now it’s here. The gift has arrived, faithfully delivered by Anna Powers. I encourage everyone to read this special book; it will change how you see yourself, the world, and the world to come.”
